Programs Offered

Methadone Maintenance
The length of the treatment program is an individual decision. Many clients choose a longer path of treatment. If you are unsure about your individual path, feel free to discuss this with your counselor during your intake appointment.

Buprenorphine Maintenance
We also offer buprenorphine treatment as an alternative to the methadone program. Just as in the methadone program, buprenorphine treatment can be short-term or can be a lifelong process. This process is determined when you meet with the Medical Director upon entry into the program.

Medically Supervised Taper
Individuals that are assessed appropriate will be admitted for a short-term or long-term medication taper.

Outpatient Treatment
STS offers day and evening outpatient treatment called Six Dimensions Counseling.

Individual Therapy
Clients are required to meet with their counselor once a week for one hour during the first 10 weeks of treatment. After this initial stage clients are required to meet with their counselor once a month (they may meet more as necessary). During this time counselor and client work to create an individual treatment plan to help reach the client’s personal goals for their recovery.

Medical Care
All STS clients have access to basic medical care.

Comprehensive Chemical Health Assessments
STS offers chemical health evaluations. During an assessment you meet with a licensed alcohol and drug counselor who will make recommendations for you. We will prepare an assessment summary acceptable by the court and probation systems. Most assessments can be completed within 24-48 hours.

If you have not had any legal problems but have questions or concerns about your use, you may contact us to set up a chemical health assessment. A chemical health assessments determines what (if any) services would be helpful for you and your specific situation.

STS offers a 8-16 hour curriculum for clients required to complete chemical health education. The classes meet all state and Department of Public Safety requirements.

Daily Chemical Education Groups
STS offers professionally- led education and group therapy. These classes are Monday through Friday from 9-10AM.

Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s life force energy is low, the we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, andif it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.

Reiki is a simple healing and self improvement that anyone can use. It has been effective with many illnesses and depressions and always creates a beneficial effect, It workds with other medical and therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

STS holds a host county contract for consolidated funding for all services provided. We are contracted providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Partners, Preferred One, Metropolitan Health Plan, and UCare. We also accept qualified self-pay clients.
